Online Education Initiative Updates and FAQ

On February 12, 2015, the Online Education Initiative announced its selection of Canvas to provide an online course management system and related services to community colleges statewide in California. With this announcement, both colleges are reviewing and considering two course management systems.

  1. Blackboard – our current learning management system
  2. Canvas – the State adopted learning management system

This website will serve to disseminate district and college information regarding the review and selection of a learning management system.

Welcome to SBCCD's Teaching, Learning, and Technology Community

Welcome to the San Bernardino Community College District's Teaching, Learning, and Technology Online Community, the social network for those interested exploring the opportunity and challenges present as we integrate technology into the learning environment.

Teaching, Learning, and Technology is currently a closed community for adjunct and full time faculty, staff, and administrators at SBCCD.  It has been created to provide an informal, supportive community for you to start and continue a digital dialog.  Since it is a closed community, you need to sign up by clicking the SIGN UP link located in the upper right corner. Your membership will need to be approved by the site admins, Trelisa or Rhiannon.  Once approved you will access to the full website and can participate in the discussion forums.

CCC Online Education Initiative

The mission of the California Community Colleges Online Education Initiative (OEI) is to dramatically increase the number of California Community Colleges (CCC) students who obtain college associate degrees and transfer to four-year colleges each year by providing online courses and services within a statewide CCC Online Education Ecosystem (OEE).
